Statement of Faith

  Pastor Abner Rosario  

Pastor Abner Rosario was born in New York City and was a raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the Baruch Projects. As a young boy he was introduced to the Lord by his mother. Attending church on a regular bases was the norm in the Rosario house hold. At the age of twelve Pastor Rosario excepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and thus his walk of faith began. Shortly after that the call of the Lord came over his life and the battle of doing the will of God began. Pastor Rosario meet his wife Catherine Rosario in 1981 and quickly new he was in love. They married on October 3, 1981 and continue to love each other for the pass thirty years.

    Both Pastor Rosario and Catherine answered the call of God in 1989 and in 1993 they began pastoring. In 1999 they became the Pastors of East Side Tabernacle and together they have seen the hand of God moving in the community and in the lives of the people. Today they are joined by their son, daughter and son-in-law.There desire and goal is to see the lives of the people of Lower East Side transformed by the power of God.

If I were to describe the essence of what drives my heart it would be summarized in one word “liberty”.  I am convinced that freedom from bondage or oppression whether by external forces, or self imposed bondage is possible.  The Bible unequivocally states that  “the truth shall set us free” ( Jn. 8:32 ).  This first hand knowledge as to how God freed  me is what motivates all that I do. I recognize that sin enslaves men and women, and that sin manifest itself in many different ways in our lives.  These manifestations  can be physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.  However, I believe whole heartedly that faith in Jesus Christ and the truth of the gospel will free men and women from the oppressive forces of a life of sin.  Emotional and mental healing, as well as true freedom is available through the gift of his son Jesus Christ.  



As an Associate Pastor of Eastside Tabernacle and in support of Senior Pastor Abner Rosario, I have focused my life by helping, and aiding growth through Pastoral care in counseling, Pastoral care in directing worship in evangelical spanish meetings and preaching, and Pastoral care in church study programs.  Ultimately, God has place us In the Lower Eastside to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ which is liberating. Freedom from all vices is God’s desire for men and woman leading to growth in your new life in Christ furthermore,  it culminates in one reaching the greatest potential in the kingdom of God.
